The corridor will connect Anand Nagar in Thane to Chheda Nagar in Ghatkopar. It will also include significant links through Mulund, Airoli, JVLR, Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg, Mankhurd, and Ghatkopar. Additionally, this route will integrate smoothly with the Anand Nagar–Saket Elevated Road, making for a continuous high-speed pathway. It will also have connections to the Samruddhi Expressway.
Upon completion, the freeway is expected to enhance traffic movement. Once operational, this highway will also reduce emissions. Furthermore, it will provide a quicker, more reliable transportation option for residents, promoting economic growth throughout the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. MMRDA is dedicated to sustainable development and, after consulting with environmental experts and activists, has modified the Vikhroli–Ghatkopar stretch to protect 127 Pink Trumpet trees. In compensation, 4,175 new trees will be planted.
As of now, various construction phases, such as surveys and pile tests, are well underway, paving the way for a greener, more connected Mumbai. Stay tuned for more updates!
