Thailand is renowned as one of the most attractive travel destinations globally. Its vibrant nightlife, diverse shopping experiences, cultural richness, stunning islands, and delicious cuisine make it especially appealing to Indian tourists. With the added advantages of being visa-free for Indian passport holders and affordable flight options, reaching Thailand is both convenient and quick. And if you are planning to visit Thailand, we have an important update for you. Beginning May 1, 2025, all travelers will be required to complete a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before they enter the country. Read on to know more.
This digital arrival card must be filled out no later than 72 hours before arrival and will replace the previous paper-based TM6 form. This new digital approach applies to all non-Thai nationals arriving by air, land, or sea, streamlining the immigration process and enhancing security.
Digital Arrival Card Is Mandatory For All Tourists
If you’re planning a trip to Thailand soon, don’t forget to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card. You’ll need to provide key information, including your full name, nationality, phone number, email address, and passport details. Additionally, you’ll need to include your flight number, the purpose of your travel, and your address in Thailand, such as your hotel or residential location.
The initiative is part of Thailand’s broader efforts to modernize its immigration procedures, which also includes the installation of automatic entry and exit barriers. In 2024, Thailand welcomed over 35.54 million international visitors, reflecting a significant increase of 26.27 percent compared to the previous year.
Moreover, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) also announced that the nation received the title of “Best Worldwide Destination” at the prestigious Irish Travel Trade Awards (ITTN Awards) 2024. This event, hosted by Irish Travel Trade News, took place on November 29, 2024, in Dublin, Ireland, with votes from more than 5,000 travel agents. The awards recognize excellence across multiple categories, including Destinations, Airlines, and Sustainability.
