The movie not only won hearts with its engaging story, stellar music, and memorable moments but also earned over INR 70 crore worldwide. Main Hoon Na: Re-Release, Cast, and More

The 2004 iconic Bollywood film, Main Hoon Na, was directed by Farah Khan and starred Shah Rukh Khan. It was re-released in the theatres recently. The re-release was organised  in over 30 cities in India, across more than 75 cinemas

There were additional screenings in international locations such as the Middle East, the UK, North America, Australia, and Europe. This special two-week SRK Film Festival coincided with SRK’s 60th birthday on November 2, 2025. This festival gave the fans an opportunity to revisit Main Hoon Na and other classics in the PVR near them.

The main cast of the movie features Shah Rukh Khan as Major Ram Prasad Sharma, Suniel Shetty as Raghavan Dutta, Sushmita Sen as Chandni Chopra, Zayed Khan as Laxman Prasad Sharma, and Amrita Rao as Sanjana Bakshi. There were also some main supporting roles by Kabir Bedi, Kirron Kher, Boman Irani, Satish Shah, Naseeruddin Shah, Bindu, and Rakhi Sawant. 

Main Hoon Na Shooting Locations

The movie was primarily shot at St. Paul’s School in Darjeeling, West Bengal. It serves as the central college campus in the film. The location was chosen for its authentic as well as relatable atmosphere based on the storyline. 

The production team had to live in the dormitories of the school during the entire shoot. They even had to install a water heater to bring comfort of cast and crew in the Darjeeling winter. Many dramatic stunts which involved Shah Rukh Khan took place on the rooftops and exteriors of St. Paul’s. The production had to bring in special equipment like cranes and harnesses. 

Chale Jaise Hawaien” Song Shooting Location

The song “Chale Jaise Hawayein” from the movie Main Hoon Na was also shot at St. Paul’s School in Darjeeling. The iconic and renowned one-take dance sequence of the song was filmed on the school grounds and surrounding areas in Darjeeling. The place is known for its scenic hill station landscape and that simply elevated the scenes in the movie. The actors rehearsed the choreography for 15 days in Mumbai before the final shoot in Darjeeling took place.

Other Main Hoon Na Filming Locations

Some scenes of Main Hoon Na were shot at the renowned St. Xavier’s College. in Mumbai The interiors of St. Xavier’s College were used for some of academic and campus-related scenes. This mainly includes the library scene, where certain key interactions take place involving actor Zayed Khan. 

Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic entry scene in Main Hoon Na was shot at the Darjeeling Railway Station. Even today, the scene where SRK (Major Ram) emerges  from the smoke of the steam engine is one of the most iconic moments of the film.
