If you’re an Indian graduate looking to move, work, or study there for 2 years, then the ballot system approach is your shot. The UK has announced the India Young Professionals Scheme, their first visa ballot for the year, and the best part, yet, is that entry to the ballot is free. Similar to a lucky draw, the ballot system offers 3,000 visas to Indians in the February ballot while more will be offered in the July ballot, as per the UK government.
The ballot commenced on 20 February at 2.30 pm and will end on 22 February at 2.30 pm. Applicants must meet the financial, educational, and other requirements. While applying you must provide the following details else your application will be considered invalid:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Passport details
- A scan or photo of your passport
- Phone number
- Email address
Entries will be picked randomly and those applicants whose application is selected will receive an email confirmation. The results of the ballot will be sent 2 weeks after it’s closed. If your application gets picked, you’ll get 90 days from the date of receiving the selection email to apply for the visa only. You’ll have to pay the visa fee of GBP 298 which will include the health surcharge and also provide your biometrics. Now that Indians can get UK visas through ballot system, it’s time to try you luck and explore your potential next international destination!
