UNESCO Recognized Taj Mahal To Be Secured With Anti-Drone Technology

Taj Mahal to get anti-drone technology

Taj Mahal needs no introduction – as one of the seven wonders of the modern world, this monument has long been synonymous with India’s cultural identity. The stunning marble facade, the intricately carved interiors, and sprawling, geometric Mughal gardens – the beauty of Taj Mahal is best described as ‘ethereal’. However, amidst national security concerns, Taj Mahal might soon get an additional security layer. Not just police protection and surveillance, now the iconic monument will be secured with anti-drone technology. Here’s all that we know about this new security measure.

Drone-Jamming Technology At Taj Mahal

With the help of the latest developments in the Advanced Drone Jamming Technology, Taj Mahal is set to be equipped with anti-drone technology. The motive behind this is to counter growing risks of aerial threats and intrusions. As one of the most significant monuments in the country, Taj Mahal also remains one of the most visited tourist destinations in India. So, its security is a top priority that will require advanced technology and planned-out counter strategies.

Why The Need For Anti-Drone Technology

Amidst simmering tensions between India and its neighboring countries, this decision has been taken to ensure that a tourist hub like Taj Mahal remains a safe and sound place. Currently, the iconic landmark is guarded by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Uttar Pradesh Police. Even though this monument is equipped with efficient police security and surveillance, the decision to install anti-drone technology is a precaution in the right direction.

Details About The Anti-Drone Technology At Taj Mahal

Taj Security’s Assistant Commissioner of Police, Syed Arib Ahmad, revealed a few details about this new layer of security to a few national media houses. He stated that the anti-drone technology will cover a range of seven to eight kilometers. However, it will be particularly effective within a 200-meter radius of the monument’s main dome – the site that is the most visited in the Taj Mahal complex.

He also revealed how this technology will actually function. It will jam the communication signals of any unauthorized drone that enters the restricted zone. As it jams communication signals, it is virtually impossible for a drone to function on its own. This, instead of physically destroying a drone, is a more efficient method of rendering drones useless.

Law enforcement personnel will be given adequate training to ensure that they operate this new technology in the most efficient ways possible. He also added that they’ll set up a dedicated response team to manage incidents related to unauthorized drone intrusions.

This response team will be responsible for tackling aerial threats as well as locating the launch points of the drone and securing the landing site once it has been grounded.

Summing Up

Taj Mahal, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a monument of national significance. Its visual and cultural heritage has been passed down since generations as it stands tall along the Yamuna River even centuries after being built. It is a symbol of love and passion and not a battleground of chaos and unrest. It is in this spirit that additional security measures are being undertaken – to preserve the heritage that Taj Mahal carries in its pristine white facade.
