In India, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is more than just a sport; it’s like a festival and a celebration of cricket. This year, the IPL is taking place from 22 March to 25 May 2025. There will be 74 matches played at 13 different venues, including 12 days with two matches in one day. Afternoon games will start at 3:30 PM, and evening games will begin at 7:30 PM. Many of the matches will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. If you’re planning to go to the matches, there’s some great news! Uber has teamed up with the Mumbai Indians to provide free shuttle services for fans going to home matches at Wankhede Stadium.
If you are super stoked, you must know that the free shuttle service will run only on match days, and 10 Uber Shuttle buses will be available for the same. These buses will ply between Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Wankhede Stadium before the match, returning to Bandra, Worli, and BKC after the game.
Besides this, Uber will offer promo codes for discounts on rides to and from the stadium, encouraging fans to share rides rather than drive their cars.
Seats On The Free Shuttle Service Will Be Available On A First-Come Come First basis
If you are planning to book this ride, you can book the free shuttle service via the Uber app by selecting Wankhede Stadium as your destination. After choosing the Shuttle option, you can pick a time slot and confirm the booking. Seats can be reserved in advance for a comfortable, air-conditioned ride with no standing passengers.
The shuttles will leave from MMRDA Ground Parking (across from Metropolitan) in BKC to Wankhede Stadium. After the game, return services will be available from near Cooperage Bandstand (close to Wankhede) to Haji Ali, Phoenix Palladium, and BKC.
Remember, seats for the shuttle are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. So if you’re planning to go, it’s a good idea to book your ride, so hurry and book yours now!
