Uber has introduced Shikara rides in Srinagar, Kashmir, offering tourists a hassle-free way to explore the iconic Dal Lake without the stress of bargaining. Partnering with local Shikara owners, Uber has launched the service as a trial with 10 boats. To support the boatmen during this phase, Uber is waiving its commission from their earnings.
Tourists can book Shikara rides up to 15 days in advance or as early as 12 hours before the ride. Departing from Shikara Ghat 16, the hour-long rides can accommodate up to four passengers, ensuring fair pricing and enhanced safety, especially beneficial for international travelers.
