For those planning to visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the standard single-entry visa for Indian nationals is priced at INR 7,500. Additionally, individuals with a valid US visa qualify for a visa on arrival. However, now, the UAE has introduced a new option that is not universally available. It is available only to select individuals. The country has launched a Blue Visa program. It grants a 10-year residency permit to people who have significantly contributed to environmental sustainability.
Details about this initiative were shared by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP). The first phase of this program aims to recognize 20 leaders and innovators in sustainability. This announcement was made during the World Government Summit 2025, taking place in Dubai from February 11 to 13.
Who Can Apply For The Blue Visa Program
The Blue Visa program targets individuals committed to environmental protection and sustainability within the UAE and beyond. This visa is awarded to advocates from international organizations, corporations, and NGOs, as well as global award winners and notable activists in environmental efforts. Those interested in the Blue Visa can apply directly through the ICP or receive a nomination from relevant UAE authorities.

The implementation of the Blue Visa is part of the UAE’s broader sustainability initiatives.
