The Classic CinCin Tiramisu
Most desserts are seen as a ‘full-stop’ to a meal; as a sign for you to end the meal. But that’s not really the case with a tiramisu, especially one made in CinCin’s kitchens. It is more like a ‘comma’, nudging patrons to pause, reflect, yet keep going. It’s not necessary to have it only after a meal; it makes for the perfect beginning.
If we’re being honest, a jar of tiramisu can be had at any time of the day if you love it enough! It’s smooth, layered, and soaked in bold espresso flavor and velvety mascarpone cream. A cloud of cocoa floats on top, completing the dessert and tempting patrons to dig right into this layered, comforting fiesta of flavors. Without any further ado, here’s how you too can make this simple and delicious tiramisu at home!

Tiramisu Recipe By Chef Dayamani Singh
Ingredient List:
Ingredients for the cream:
- 2 large egg yolks + 2 whole eggs
- ½ cup of granulated sugar
- 250 grams of cold, high-quality mascarpone cheese
Ingredients for assembly:
- 1 cup strong espresso or coffee, cooled
- 200 grams (about 24) savoiardi (ladyfingers)
- Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
How To Make:
- Brew & Chill
Brew a strong espresso. The deeper and darker, the better for the flavor of the tiramisu. Let the espresso cool.
- Whip Up Time
In a bowl, add egg yolks and sugar and whisk them until pale and creamy. This should take about 3 to 5 minutes. Then gently fold in the mascarpone until the mixture is smooth, light, and luscious.
- Layering For The Win
Now comes the most fun yet the most crucial part: layering the tiramisu. One by one, give each ladyfinger a quick dip in the espresso, just a couple of seconds on each side. Remember that you have to soak them but not make them soggy by dipping them in espresso for too long.
Layer them in your dish (20×20 cm or 8×8 inches). You can make individual portions if that is your preference. Spread half the mascarpone cream over the top, then repeat with another layer of coffee-kissed biscuits. Top it off with another layer of luscious, velvety cream.
- Take A Chill Pill
Cover the tiramisu and refrigerate it for a minimum of 4 to 6 hours. If you are extra patient, you can leave it to chill overnight as well. All the real magic happens when the tiramisu is resting, and a little patience will definitely reward you!
- Serve Some Cocoa Magic
Right when you’re about to serve it, generously dust the tiramisu with unsweetened cocoa. Grab a spoon and dig in!

The tiramisu is a classic Italian pick-me-up that is joy and comfort in each bite. Blissfully decadent, lavishly layered, and surprisingly light on the palate – what more could you ask for? With just a few ingredients, a little prep, and a handful of patience, you too can whisk up a high-quality tiramisu right in your home kitchen. It is perfect for parties, events, festive gatherings, or just for your own indulgence. So, when are you trying out this amazing recipe by Chef Dayamani Singh of CinCin Mumbai?
