Mumbai is all set to welcome its first elevated forest walkway in January 2025. This eco-friendly project aims to offer residents and tourists a unique nature experience. Located in Malabar Hill, the 705-meter-long and 2.4-meter-wide trail promises stunning views of the Arabian Sea and Girgaum Chowpatty.
The walkway’s entry and exit points will be at Siri Road, just behind Kamala Nehru Park. Made primarily of wood, the deck blends naturally with its surroundings, reflecting a balance between development and conservation. Inspired by Singapore’s elevated walkways, it prioritizes minimal use of concrete to reduce environmental impact.
And guess what? The first look of Mumbai’s much-anticipated elevated forest walkway is finally here! Shared by M-Indicator on Instagram, the preview is already turning heads, and it looks absolutely impressive.
Visitors can enjoy a range of features at Mumbai’s elevated forest walkway, including a birdwatching zone, a glass-bottom viewing deck, and a fully illuminated trail for night-time strolls. The walkway is designed to allow wildlife to move freely and maintain natural water flow on the hill.
One side of the trail offers panoramic views of the Arabian Sea, while the other side is lined with lush greenery and unique trees. This thoughtful design provides an immersive experience for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
The INR 22-crore project, spearheaded by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), began construction in 2022. Once completed, it is set to attract major tourism and showcase Mumbai’s commitment to sustainable development.
