Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) will perform aerobatic manoeuvres in Nashik’s skies on 22nd and 23rd January, 2026. The district planning office and Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, tourism department, water resources department, public works department, and the Indian Air Force are jointly organizing the event.

The Surya Kiran Squadron is the only aerobatics squadron in Asia, formed in 1996. The unique team has demonstrated over 500 displays in India, showcasing the immense skills of the Indian Air Force. It has also performed internationally in China, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Air Show Nashik will be held at Nashik’s Gangapur Dam in a bid to boost tourism in and around the area. The SKAT will perform spectacular aerobatic displays with the help of nine aircraft. And these aren’t any ordinary aircraft – they are special Hawk MK 132 fighter training aircraft.

On 22nd January, the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team will conduct a rehearsal in the Gangapur Dam area. This means, if you’re lucky, you can witness the aerial show for two consecutive days.

On 23rd January, the main show will take place. In this show, nine Hawk MK 132 aircraft will take over Nashik’s skies. They’ll simultaneously perform breathtaking shapes and aerial maneuvers, promising a breathtaking experience.

Along with these aerial demonstrations, audiences will also get the opportunity to listen to the technical features of the aircraft and live commentary.

It is expected that about 30,000 to 40,000 people will be attending the event. With ticket prices priced between INR 300 and INR 3,000, the authorities have clarified that the fee is being charged not to generate income, but for crowd control purposes.

The District Collector has mentioned that the tickets will be made available online soon. Speaking about the safety measures, the authorities have stated that parking spaces have been fixed in the Gangapur Dam Area.

Special instructions have also been issued regarding traffic management and emergency services. Additionally, necessary civic services and primary health facilities will also be stationed at the venue.
