A Brief Overview Of Surajkund International Crafts Mela
During the first fortnight of February each year, the festival is organized in Haryana’s Faridabad. The Mela is organized by the Surajkund Mela Authority & Haryana Tourism in collaboration with the Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture, and External Affairs.
In 2013, the Crafts Mela was upgraded to an international level. In 2015, the festival saw participation from a whopping 20 countries. During this edition, Lebanon was the Partner Nation, while Chattisgarh was the Theme State.
The festival sees about a million visitors every year, who attend to get a glimpse of India’s rich cultural heritage that is reflected in its handicrafts. In fact, it is known to be the world’s biggest crafts fair!
Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2025
In 2024, the Surajkund Mela saw about 45 countries and more than 592 foreign artists marked their presence. The 37th edition of 2024 also saw about 13 lakh visitors, which is a big feat for a festival aiming to highlight India’s arts and crafts.
This year, the event will feature more than 1,000 stalls displaying a plethora of handicrafts, textiles, paintings, and cultural artifacts.
The venue will be divided into different sections based on different Indian states, so that visitors can get a glimpse of the cultural and artistic heritage of these states.
Each year, the festival chooses a ‘theme state’ to highlight its artistic heritage. For 2025, the theme state is going to be the vibrant land of Rajasthan!

By Air
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport is the closest airport to Surajkund, located about 25 kilometers (km) away. From the airport, you can directly hire a cab or taxi.
By Rail
Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction is the closest to Surajkund. Located just 15.4 km away from the junction, you can easily get a cab to reach Surajkund. Moreover, trains from all over the country halt at the junction, making it convenient for you regardless of where you are coming from.
By Road
Surajkund is well connected by road to major cities like Delhi, Gurgaon, and Faridabad. In fact, there are a number of buses that you can take from these cities, details of which are available on the official website of Haryana Tourism.
