Since its launch, the Vande Bharat Express has linked numerous towns and cities throughout India. Currently, there are 164 Vande Bharat Express services operating nationwide, with four new routes launched on November 8, 2025. These semi-high-speed trains come in various configurations, including 8, 16, and 20 coaches. And now, Maharashtra has welcomed its 13th Vande Bharat Express with the launch of the Pune-Nanded route. This new service aims to enhance rail connectivity in the state, transforming intercity travel and supporting economic connections across different areas.
When it comes to this new Vande Bharat route, it stretches over 550 kilometers and aims to cut the travel time between Pune and Nanded from 10-12 hours down to just 6-7 hours. This will provide both business and leisure travelers with a quicker and more efficient travel option.
Regarding operations, the train is expected to begin operations by late December 2025 or early January 2026, pending final approvals.
Tickets For Pune–Nanded Route Range From INR 1,200 To INR 2,500
The Pune–Nanded Vande Bharat train will make stops at stations such as Kurduwadi in Solapur district and Dharashiv, formerly known as Osmanabad, before it ends its trip in Nanded. This new service will help nearby towns like Barshi, Madha, Pandharpur, and Karmala by providing quicker connections to larger cities.
While the specific departure times are still to be decided, officials have shared that the train will run in the afternoon. This change is aimed at meeting the needs of passengers who find the current Vande Bharat schedule from Solapur to Mumbai inconvenient for daytime travel. Ticket prices are expected to range from INR 1,200 to INR 2,500, depending on the class and distance.

This initiative aims to improve transportation and promote tourism in the Marathwada and Western Maharashtra regions.
With this new addition, Maharashtra will have a total of 13 Vande Bharat Express trains, which will connect key cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Kolhapur, Shirdi, Jalna, and Hubli.
