According to Bali Governor Wayan Koster, starting in 2026, international tourists arriving in Bali will undergo screening to ensure they possess sufficient funds. He mentioned that one element of encouraging quality tourism includes assessing the funds in visitors’ accounts over the three months preceding their trip.

In addition to financial verification, Koster indicated that the evaluation will also consider the proposed duration of stay and the activities planned during the visit. This is intended to maintain order and control over tourism dynamics, similar to policies seen in other countries.
Bali Welcomed 7.05 Million Visitors In 2025
According to the information provided, Bali saw approximately 7.05 million international tourists arriving by air in 2025, along with an extra 71,000 coming by sea. This marks a milestone for tourism in Bali as it continues to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic. The authorities acknowledged the challenges that come with a rise in visitors, which has led to the implementation of measures aimed at promoting responsible tourism, as well as enhancements in governance and infrastructure.
