Significance Of Navratri 2025

Also called as Sharadiya Navratri, this festival is dedicated to honoring and worshipping the divine feminine energy called ‘Shakti’ in Hinduism.

This ‘Shakti’ manifests itself in different forms of the ultimate ‘Devi’ – from Durga and Parvati and Saraswati and Lakshmi, the Hindu pantheon has multiple goddesses that are essentially born from the same divine feminine energy of Shakti.

Navratri 2025 is a festival that honors and celebrates this energy, mainly manifested in the 9 avatars of Goddess Durga.

Each of the nine days of Navratri are meant to worship a different form of Goddess Durga, with the tenth day celebrated as a day of truth triumphing over evil – Vijayadashmi.

Sharadiya Navratri also celebrates the harvest season, becoming symbolic of a festival of prosperity and abundance. It focuses on spiritual purification and rejuvenation and finding your inner strength.

The tenth day, i.e. Vijayadashmi, is also celebrated as a day that symbolizes Lord Rama’s victory over the demon king Ravana.
