Managing High Volume Traffic In Nandi Hills For Valentine’s Day Is Challenging

And now with Valentine’s Day falling on a Saturday in 2026, officials expect an even greater turnout of approximately 15,000 to 20,000 visitors, likely resulting in severe traffic delays. The narrow and winding roads leading to the Hills make it particularly challenging to manage such a high volume of traffic.

Additionally, the district administration has raised alarms about potential issues related to alcohol consumption, inappropriate behavior, public disturbances, and risky activities in certain hazardous areas of the hilltop. They cautioned that managing large crowds in steep and rugged terrain could elevate the risk of accidents and create significant law enforcement challenges. Hence, keeping all this in mind, Nandi Hills will be closed on Saturday, Valentine’s Day.

The authorities emphasized that these measures are essential to protect visitor safety and prevent any unfortunate incidents. Police have been directed to enforce this ban strictly and will take legal action against those who disregard the rules.
