Mysuru Dasara

In India, every destination offers something truly special, whether it’s stunning scenery or vibrant festivals. Among these, the Dasara festival in Mysuru is a must-see. Celebrated with great enthusiasm and royal traditions, Mysuru’s Dasara attracts a huge number of visitors from all over the world. In 2025, Mysuru Dasara achieved something incredible. On September 28, nearly 3,000 drones illuminated the Torchlight Parade Ground in Bannimantap, transforming the night sky into a colorful spectacle.

Arranged by Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC), this spectacular exhibition transformed the night sky into a colorful masterpiece. A team of engineers brought a magnificent tiger, representing India’s rich heritage, to life using 2,983 synchronized drones. This remarkable event established a new Guinness World Record for the “Largest aerial image of a mammal created by drones,” exceeding the prior record of 1,985 drones utilized for a similar display.

To ensure that the event is a massive success with no issues, the organizers conducted test runs on September 28 and 29. These rehearsals helped refine the choreography, ensure safety, and perfect the lighting and timing, all of which contributed to the seamless execution of the show.

The audience cheered enthusiastically as they were treated to a variety of mesmerizing aerial images. They admired representations of the solar system, ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3, a soldier, mythological scenes, and significant symbols of Karnataka, such as the Ambari elephant, a peacock, a dolphin, and an eagle. Each formation captivated the crowd with its harmonious blend of technology and tradition.

If you’re planning to be in Mysuru for Dasara, you won’t want to miss the stunning drone show happening on October 1st and 2nd, which aims to provide more people with the opportunity to partake in the festivities.
