In 2024, GSB Seva Mandal secured an insurance coverage of INR 400.58 crore, and this year it has increased to INR 474.46 crore, marking the highest coverage to date.
The GSB Ganpati insurance cover is provided by New India Assurance, a government-owned company, and includes protection against various risks, a standard fire policy with coverage for special dangers and earthquakes, as well as public liability insurance. It also covers personal accidents for volunteers and other individuals involved.

Out of the total INR 474.4 crore in insurance, the most significant portion – INR 375 crore is dedicated to personal accident insurance for volunteers, which encompasses workers like achaks, chappal stall attendants, cooks, and valet parking staff.
Additionally, there is INR 67 crore in coverage for gold and silver jewelry and related risks. The mandal has also arranged for INR 30 crore in public liability coverage and an INR 2 crore policy for protecting furniture, fixtures, and other belongings against fire and special perils.
What To Know About GSB Seva Mandal And GSB Ganesha
GSB Seva Mandal is a non-profit organization established in 1951 under the Bombay Public Trust Act. Located in Mumbai, it was founded on Vijaya Dashami and is known for its extravagant Ganeshotsav celebrations.
This year marks the 71st anniversary of GSB Ganpati. The Ganesh idol will be richly decorated with over 69 kg of gold and more than 336 kg of silver, along with other precious offerings from devotees. In total, INR 67.03 crore has been allocated for the jewelry adorning the GSB Ganpati gold and silver idol.
The GSB Seva Mandal darshan 2025 will take place from August 27th to August 31st, 2025, at Shree Sukrateendra Nagar, King’s Circle.
