  • No heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) will be allowed to enter the northbound and southbound lanes of the Western Express Highway, particularly between Vakola Flyover and Dahisar Toll Naka.
  • This restriction will be in effect from 8 AM to 9 PM on 17th February, 2026.
  • The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marg stretch from Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk will be shut for all vehicular movement on this day from 2 PM to 9 PM.
  • The stretch from Jokhim Alva Chowk to Adam Street Junction will also be shut from 2 PM to 9 PM.
  • Only emergency vehicles like ambulances, fire brigades, police vehicles, and government vehicles will be allowed to ply.
  • The police will also allow some vehicles, permitted by them due to operational requirements, to use the highway.

The notification was issued to the general public under the Motor Vehicles Act. Violators found violating traffic rules may face penalties. So it is better to plan your commute for that day in advance and look for alternatives.
