Mumbai To Soon Get A Ferris Wheel Called ‘Mumbai Eye’

Mumbai is undoubtedly a stunning and picturesque city, brimming with iconic landmarks and attractions. If you’re looking for a unique experience beyond the usual views, how about an aerial perspective of the city? Instead of just visiting a rooftop restaurant, imagine taking in the sights of Mumbai from a giant Ferris wheel! Sounds exciting, right?

The city is set to welcome the “Mumbai Eye,” a Ferris wheel inspired by the famous London Eye, following the approval of this much-anticipated project by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in its annual budget.

Once completed, the Mumbai Eye will provide breathtaking panoramic views of the city’s shimmering skyline. This ambitious project will be developed through a public-private partnership (PPP), with the final location yet to be determined. Initially suggested by the Shiv Sena in 2008, the project has faced numerous delays over the years. In 2022, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) aimed to establish the attraction at the Bandra Reclamation promenade, but this proposal was dumped due to residents’ objections.

Now that the Mumbai Eye project is back on track, it promises to be yet another compelling reason for visitors to flock to the Maximum City for an unforgettable experience. Stay tuned for more updates.
