Viewing Tower

Mumbai, often known as the ‘City of Dreams‘, is now facing challenges like construction chaos, potholes, and heavy traffic, earning the new nickname ‘City of Distress.’ Yet, amidst these struggles, the city’s unique charm continues to shine through. To enhance your experience of Mumbai’s allure from above, Mumbai is set to get a new viewing tower next to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)will build this tower to offer stunning views of the city’s skyline and the Arabian Sea.

As per the reports, the Viewing Tower will not only serve as an observation point but also function as a sewage treatment facility, aiming to draw tourists while highlighting the BMC’s long-standing commitment to civic management. Rising 50 meters high, the structure will include an open seating area, ramps, and an elevator for easy accessibility.

The Viewing Tower Aims To Be Ready By 2027

For this viewing tower, the authorities are considering features like telescopes and binocular stations, similar to those at Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, to make the site even more inviting for visitors.

At the tower, you can expect the first and ground floors to feature an informative center that highlights BMC’s history and its efforts in water conservation. Given its strategic location by the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, the civic authorities have permitted the construction of the sewage treatment plant (STP) under the condition that it stays below ground level.
