For the Mumbai New Year 2026, the Mumbai Metro Line 3 will run throughout the night, significantly improving late-night transportation options for those celebrating the New Year. An official announcement highlighted that this metro line, which connects Cuffe Parade to Aarey JVLR, will operate continuously on New Year’s Eve, promoting safe and easy travel for everyone.
The extended metro service will kick off after 10:30 PM on December 31 and will continue until 5:55 AM on January 1, 2026. Regular operations are set to resume at that time. This fully underground line spans 33.5 kilometers, featuring a total of 27 stations, most of which are underground.

Mumbai New Year 2026: Central, Western And Harbour Line Announce Special Trains
Now, when it comes to trains for the Mumbai New Year 2026 celebrations, Central Railway has scheduled four suburban services for the night of December 31. A New Year’s special train will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) at 1:30 AM, arriving in Kalyan at 3:00 AM, with a return trip scheduled for 1:30 AM from Kalyan.
Western Railway is also offering eight extra services – four heading towards Virar and four returning to Churchgate – with departures starting at 1:15 AM. For the Harbour Line, a special train will leave CSMT at 1:30 AM and reach Panvel by 2:50 AM. The return service will depart from Panvel at 1:30 AM, arriving back at CSMT at 2:50 AM.

Additionally, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) service is launching special buses linking popular beach spots from 10 PM until 12:30 AM. Heritage tour buses will also be active in South Mumbai overnight, beginning at 5:30 PM.
