Between August 27, 2025 to September 6, 2025 between 10 AM to 11 PM daily, Lord Ganesha’s idol will be on a Mumbai ‘tour’ across 50+ neighborhoods in Mumbai and Thane atop an open-air double-decker bus called ‘Hijack India 2.0’.

Route Map: Which Neighborhoods Will Moving Bappa Visit?

The bus has already toured many neighborhoods in Bandra, Khar, Vileparle, Santacruz, Kandivali, Malad, Jogeshwari, Goregaon, Andheri, Worli, Bandra Kurla Complex, Byculla, and Marine Drive. The official Instagram handle of Mumbai Cha Sheth posts the route plans on a daily basis so devotees can stay informed about the open-air bus reaching their neighborhood.

For the ease of devotees in these neighborhoods, the official Mumbai Cha Sheth handle has also enabled live tracking of the bus exclusively on the Mahotsav App. That way, devotees will be able to conveniently track the live location and plan their darshan.

The bus will allow thousands of devotees to take darshan without standing in winding queues for hours, especially in this humid, rainy weather. The moving bus will make Ganesha darshan more convenient, enjoyable, and convenient for thousands of devotees. The main reason why this initiative took off stems out of a noble cause – to make Ganpati darshan more accessible to people. Even though many pandals in Mumbai have some of the country’s most famous Ganesha idols, plenty of devotees refrain from visiting these pandals – mainly due to extreme wait hours, suffocating environment, and overcrowding.

Along with the open-air double-decker bus, there will also be a donation van initiative called ‘Bappa ka Maan, Aapka Samaan;. This donation van will collect donations and essentials from devotees for the underprivileged communities. Along with the Moving Bappa initiative, the donation van initiative will make the celebration more meaningful and beneficial for the underprivileged communities as well.
