In light of rising tensions between India and Pakistan, both Mumbai and Delhi airports have released updated travel advisories to ensure passengers’ safety and smooth travel operations. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai has taken the initiative to issue a detailed advisory, particularly in response to recent ceasefire violations that have temporarily halted civilian flights at various airports, including those in Srinagar, Amritsar, and Jammu, until May 15.
The advisory outlines essential dos and don’ts designed to promote hassle-free travel and safety for passengers. Travelers should arrive well in advance of their scheduled departure times due to the implementation of additional security measures. Essential documents such as government-issued photo IDS, passports, visas, and boarding passes should be easily accessible for verification upon request.
Travelers are advised to pack light and comply with security regulations. This includes carrying liquids in containers of no more than 100ml within a clear zip-lock bag. Electronics such as laptops and tablets should be placed separately in trays during screening. It’s imperative to refer to the airline or airport websites for a list of prohibited items before packing.
Passengers travelling through #MumbaiAirport are encouraged to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a safe and seamless journey.

Passengers should never leave their luggage unattended, as any unclaimed baggage may be treated as suspicious, potentially prompting emergency responses. Keeping abreast of announcements via airport social media channels or displays is also recommended. Any suspicious activity or unattended items should be reported immediately to the nearest security personnel. Full cooperation with airport security is expected throughout the travel process.
Delhi Airport Issues Travel Advisory
In Delhi, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has similarly issued advisories concerning possible alterations to flight schedules and extended wait times due to security enhancements brought about by escalating border tensions. Passengers are urged to remain informed through their airlines and to comply with all baggage regulations. Maintaining awareness of security measures and checking flight statuses through official channels is crucial for a safe journey. The airport is committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure passenger safety during this period of heightened security.
