The US VP and his family landed at the Palam Airport on April 21, 2025, where they were welcomed by the Union Minister for Railways and Information & Broadcasting – Ashwini Vaishnaw. Vance also received a Ceremonial Guard of Honor, as it marked the first official visit of the Vice President to India. He then met the Prime Minister (PM) of India, Narendra Modi.
The two reviewed the fast-paced progress that followed after PM Modi’s visit to the US. They discussed matters of India-US relations and committed to mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of trade, defence, technology, and energy.

The US VP and his family visited the Central Cottage Industries Emporium in New Delhi. Here, they explored the showroom and shopped for various items like pottery, tea, and papier-mache items. They also visited the Akshardham Temple in Delhi, where they offered their prayers and spent about 55 minutes exploring the temple.

The US VP and his family first visited the Amber Fort at around 9:00 AM on April 22, 2025. To prepare for the visit, Amber Fort was cleared out and closed off to the public a day before the arrival of the VP, JD Vance.
From the elephant stand in Amber, he and his family were taken to the palace in an open gypsy, where they were welcomed by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. Not just the Chief Minister, but two royal elephants of the fort, Chanda and Pushpa too greeted the US VP. These elephants were decorated in the royal way, including traditional jewelry said to be over 350 years old.
Then, a troupe of Rajasthani folk dancers swayed and performed traditional song and dance, delighting the guests. The US VP and his family also explored the fort, including the Diwan-e-Khas, Diwan-e-Aam, Baradari, and the palace fountains. During their Jaipur visit, they passed through other Jaipur tourist attractions such as the Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, and the bustling city streets, before they made their way to the Rambagh Palace. US VP, JD Vance, and his family are scheduled to have lunch at the Rambagh Palace featuring traditional Rajasthani delicacies.

After the delightful lunch session, the US VP, JD Vance, will present a keynote address on US-India relations at the Rajasthan International Center at 3 PM. After the keynote address, he will meet Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade in the evening. They will mainly discuss potential trade opportunities, Indo-US collaborations, and bilateral relations. On April 23, 2025, the US VP and his family will leave for Agra, and on April 24, 2025, they will depart for the US.
