Due to the current unrest and rising tensions in Iran, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has released multiple travel warnings for Indian citizens. Indians are strongly advised to refrain from non-essential travel to Iran until further notice. Indian citizens and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) who are currently in Iran should take necessary precautions, steer clear of crowded areas or protests, and stay updated by following news as well as the official website and social media accounts of the Indian Embassy in Tehran.
Additionally, Indian nationals residing in Iran on long-term visas should make sure they are registered with the Indian Embassy if they haven’t done so already. Besides this, Air India issued a travel advisory today, 15th January, Thursday, cautioning passengers about potential delays as flights are being rerouted following the closure of Iran airspace.
