IndiGo Pauses Leh Flight Operations As Snowfall Disrupts Air Traffic

Leh Flight

Leh is famous for the stunning Pangong Lake and some of the highest motorable passes in the world, such as Khardung La Pass, Uming La Pass, and Mig La Pass. However, it is also known for its extreme winter conditions, with temperatures sometimes dropping to -35 degrees Celsius. And now, on January 5, 2026, Leh experienced heavy snowfall, which caused all flights at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport to be halted, impacting both arrivals and departures. IndiGo Airlines issued a travel advisory stating that they temporarily suspended operations due to the snowfall.
