About The 508-KM Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train Corridor

The ambitious Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project will mark a milestone in India’s public transport infrastructure. Spanning across a 508-km corridor, India’s first bullet trains will connect Mumbai and Ahmedabad at a speed of 320 km/hour. The bullet train will complete this entire train journey in about 2 hours 17 minutes if it halts at all the planned 12 stations along the route. However, it will cover this entire journey in just 1 hour 58 minutes if it halts at 4 stops instead of 12.

While the inaugural run was planned on a 50-km stretch between Surat and Bilimora earlier, it has now been confirmed that the inaugural run will be on a 100-km long Surat-Vapi corridor. Engineers working on this project have stated that this new distance will allow them for better testing of core systems.

How The Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train Will Ease Travel

Once the entire Ahmedabad-Mumbai high-speed is operational, it will drastically reduce travel time between the two cities. While the journey takes about 6 to 8 hours today, the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train will cut travel time to close to roughly a little more than 2 hours.
