The festive season is here, and to enjoy the festive spirit, if you’re planning to travel by train soon, Indian Railways has launched a special festive scheme that you should check out. The Indian Railways has introduced a new scheme called “Round Trip Package for Festival Rush”. This scheme will aid in crowd management and facilitate travel during the upcoming festival season. Read on to know more about it.

The Railway Board has announced a new scheme that offers a 20% discount on the base fare for the return journey. To avail this discount, passengers must book confirmed tickets for both their outgoing and return trips, ensuring that the tickets are for the same passengers, travel class, and route. This offer will be available starting from August 14, 2025.

For the outward journey, travelers must book their tickets for dates between October 13 and October 26, 2025. The return tickets should be booked using the connecting journey option for travel that takes place between November 17 and December 1, 2025. Please note that the usual reservation rules do not apply to return journey bookings.

Indian Railways Has Announced That This Scheme Is Available To All Classes And Trains

The scheme is available to all classes and trains, excluding those with flexi-fare pricing, and applies solely to confirmed reservations. Both outbound and return journeys must be booked similarly, either through the website or at a ticket counter. Any additional charges incurred during charting will not be applied.

Finally, it’s important to note that tickets purchased through this scheme are not eligible for any refund on fares. Additionally, during the return trip booking under the concessional fare, offers such as discounts, Rail travel coupons, and voucher-based bookings will not be accepted.

The scheme does not permit changes, additional concessions, or the use of travel coupons, vouchers, or passes. The Railway Board has instructed all zonal railways to effectively communicate this scheme to passengers via press releases, media coverage, and announcements at railway stations, as reported by ANI.
