The well-known and highly revered Puri Rath Yatra festival of Lord Jagannath is happening tomorrow, June 27, 2025, in the holy city of Puri, Odisha. Many devotees from across India travel to Puri for this event. To help accommodate the large number of devotees, the East Coast Railways (ECR) has announced that it will run 365 special trains. These trains will connect Puri with several destinations, including Baleswar, Biramitrapur, and Rourkela, reaching various parts of the country like Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh.
Within Odisha, these special trains will also link places like Bangiriposi, Junagarh Road, Badampahar, Boudh, and many others to Puri. The rail services are announced not only to manage the anticipated influx of pilgrims but also to facilitate travel for those in more remote or rural areas. The Odisha government estimates that around 300,000 pilgrims will attend Rath Yatra 2025.
Besides the train services, to ensure everyone’s safety and the smooth running of this popular festival, the Odisha government has put several measures in place.

Puri Rath Yatra 2025 Arrangements Made For Devotees
This includes installing AI-driven CCTV cameras in key areas, deploying anti-terrorist units and police teams, having bomb disposal squads ready, and making over 300 doctors available with medical teams.
There will also be temporary hospitals, mobile medical units, and ambulances on standby. Notably, every registered devotee will receive an insurance cover of INR 5 lakh to provide additional protection.
