Holi 2025 is just around the corner, with the main festivities set to take place on March 14. Celebrations have already begun in various parts of India, and many people have started traveling to their hometowns for the occasion. To facilitate smoother travel during this busy time, Indian Railways has introduced additional trains.
Among these new services is a special Vande Bharat Express connecting Delhi and Patna, aimed at managing the increased travel demand during Holi. This train service will operate from March 8 to March 21, 2025, providing passengers with a comfortable option to reach cities along the route, such as Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ballia, Chhapra, and Patliputra.
Reservations for these special trains opened on March 6, 2025. Train number 02436 leaves Delhi at 8:30 AM and reaches Patna at 10:30 PM. The return trip, train number 02435, will leave Patna at 5:30 AM and arrive at Delhi by 8:10 PM. This train will make stops at nine stations: Ghaziabad, Kanpur Central, Prayagraj Junction, Varanasi, Ghazipur City, Ballia, Suraimanpur, Chhapra Junction, and Patliputra Junction.
In addition to the Vande Bharat Express, Indian Railways runs a variety of special trains, including routes from Delhi to Howrah, Khatipura to Howrah, Gorakhpur to Mahbubnagar, Amritsar to Gorakhpur and more.
