Due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, air travel in the Middle East has been significantly affected. Flights have resumed, but only in a limited capacity to assist stranded travelers. Emirates has suspended all scheduled flights until March 7, as the war has disrupted major air hubs like Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi. Airlines such as IndiGo and Air India have partially resumed operations, and Air India Express and SpiceJet are offering special flights. Additionally, Oman is still operating some flights, prompting many to travel by road to catch flights back home. Indian passport holders with a valid visa or residence permit from the USA, UK, Canada, Japan, or Schengen countries can obtain a visa on arrival for a duration of up to 14 days. However, they must have a return ticket, hotel reservation, and health insurance in place to qualify for this option.
Additionally, Indian citizens who reside in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries – such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE and possess a valid resident card can also obtain a visa upon arrival. It’s essential to know that students holding resident cards from GCC countries must acquire a visit visa before entering Oman.
Lastly, the embassy has asked travelers to ensure that their passport is valid for a minimum of six months when applying for the visa.
