Goa Gets World’s Tallest Lord Ram Statue

When people think of Goa, they often imagine vibrant nightlife, peaceful beaches, stunning sunsets, and delicious cuisine. However, that perception is about to change. Why, you may ask? Because Goa is now home to the tallest statue of Lord Ram in the world! Yes, you read that correctly! Instead of being in Ayodhya or Varanasi, this remarkable statue is in Goa. On November 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a majestic 77-foot bronze statue of Lord Ram at the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Jeevottam Math in South Goa. During his visit, PM Modi also explored the temple within the Math, located in Partagali, South Goa.

World’s Tallest Lord Ram Statue Is Designed By Sculptor Ram Sutar

In Goa, this impressive 77-foot statue of Lord Ram has been created by the renowned sculptor Ram Sutar, who has also worked on the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. This striking statue holds the title of the tallest Lord Ram statue in the world. Not only does it honor Lord Ram, but it also helps to introduce a new aspect to Goa’s identity.

The Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math, situated in Goa, stands as one of India’s oldest monastic institutions, renowned for its contributions to spirituality, culture, and the community. To celebrate its 550-year legacy, various events are scheduled from November 27 to December 7. The recent unveiling by Prime Minister Modi was a significant highlight of the celebrations.

Goa Also Gets A Ramayan Theme Park

In addition to unveiling the world’s tallest Lord Ram statue, PM Modi launched the Ramayana Theme Park created by the Math. PM Modi also introduced a special commemorative coin and a postal stamp to mark the occasion.

Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math, situated in Partagali, South Goa, is the first Vaishnava Math of the Gowd Saraswat Brahmin community. Established in the 13th century by Jagadguru Madhvacharya, it emphasizes the Dvaita philosophy and is named after its renowned third guru, Shreemad Jeevottam Teerth.
