Delhi Airport Announces Increase in International User Fees

Delhi Airport

If you’re a frequent international traveler from Delhi, there’s some important news for you. The Indira Gandhi International Airport is set to implement a hike in User Development Fees (UDF), starting from April 16, 2025. This adjustment has been authorized by the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA), which means that passengers departing from and arriving at Delhi Airport for international flights will face increased fees. Read on to know more.

The upcoming fee increase will only impact international travelers, leaving domestic travelers unaffected. The fee for those arriving domestically will remain at INR 56, and the departure fee will also stay the same. For international travelers, those flying in economy class will incur INR 650 for departures and INR 275 for arrivals, translating to an additional charge of INR 925 for a round trip, excluding the flight cost.

On the other hand, business-class passengers will face fees of INR 810 for departures and INR 345 for arrivals, resulting in an extra cost of INR 1,155 for a round trip.

This adjustment in UDF is aimed at assisting Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) in maintaining operational efficiency and infrastructure improvements, addressing crucial capital expenditure requirements, and ensuring top-tier service quality and safety for all airport users.

Besides Delhi, the Adani Group-operated Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), which manages Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, is planning to implement a new User Development Fee (UDF). Previously, this fee was only applicable to international passengers, defined as INR 187. However, MIAL is now looking to extend this fee to domestic travelers and increase the current UDF for international journeys. Stay tuned for more updates.
