Central Railway To Run Summer Special Trains From Mumbai

Summer is finally here! While the heat can be quite unbearable for some, it brings great joy to kids. With school and college breaks and the end-of-board exams, families are eager to enjoy their annual summer vacations without stress. To help travelers, especially those using trains, Indian Railways has started the ticket booking process for Summer Special Train 2025. So far, the Central Railway zone has announced 854 Summer Special Trains, which also includes 278 unreserved services to help manage the increased number of passengers in the coming months.

Originally, 356 trips of Summer Special Trains were announced. Now, an additional 498 trips have been added for passenger convenience. These special trains will operate on various routes, including Mumbai-Nagpur, Mumbai-Karmali, Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram, Pune-Nagpur, Daund-Kalaburagi and more.

The train tickets are now available for booking on IRCTC’s website, app, Paytm, and other platforms. Here’s everything you need to know about the routes and trips.

Summer Summer Special Trains Routes And Frequencies 

Route 1: CSMT-Nagpur-CSMT Bi-Weekly Special (50 trips)

Train No. 02139 will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) at 12:20 AM every Tuesday and Sunday and reach Nagpur at 3:30 PM. The train will run from 6th April 2025 to 29th June 2025. It will halt at Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Igatpuri, Nashik Road, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Malkapur, Shegaon, Akola, Murtizapur, Badnera, Dhamangaon, Wardha.

Route 2: CSMT-Karmali-CSMT Weekly Special (18 trips)

Train No 01151 will depart from CSMT at 12:20 AM every Thursday and arrive at Karmali at 13:30. The trains will be operational from 10th April 2025 to 5th June 2025. It will Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim.

There Are Various Routes For These Summer Special Trains

Route 3: LTT-Karmali-LTT Weekly Special (18 trips)

Train No 01129 will depart from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) at 10:15 PM every Thursday and arrive at Karmali at noon. It will run from 10th April 2025 to 5th June 2025 and halt at Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim.

Route 4: Pune-Nagpur-Pune Weekly Superfast AC Special (24 trips)

Train No. 01469 departs from Pune at 3:50 pm every Tuesday, arriving in Nagpur at 6:30 am the next day, with a total of 12 trips scheduled from 8th April 2025 to 24th June 2025, while Train No. 01470 leaves Nagpur at 8 am hrs every Wednesday, arriving in Pune at 11:30 pm the same day.

Route 5: Daund-Kalaburagi Unreserved Special (128 trips)

Train No. 01421 departs from Daund at 5 am five days a week (excluding Thursday and Sunday) and arrives in Kalaburagi at 11:20 am on the same day, operating from 5th April 2025 to 2nd July 2025 with a total of 64 trips.

Conversely, Train No. 01422 leaves Kalaburagi at 4:10 pm, also five days a week (excluding Thursday and Sunday), and reaches Daund at 10:20 pm the same day, covering the same dates and total trips.
