Celebrate 165 Years Of Bandra Station With Fun, Food & Festivities

Bandra Station is reaching a remarkable milestone: it’s turning 165 years old! This iconic station, which serves thousands of commuters in Mumbai daily, will celebrate this special anniversary with a vibrant event called the Bandra Station Mahotsav. The main events for the fest will start from June 20. The Western Railway has organized a series of exciting activities to honor the station’s rich history. This includes a light and sound show, art competitions, a vlog race, the release of a special commemorative stamp, and various cultural performances featuring local talent.

As part of the celebration of heritage stations across Indian Railways, Bandra Station, inaugurated on November 28, 1864, and Ratlam Station, which opened in March 1923, have been selected for a centenary celebration. The festivities at Bandra will go from June 20 until July 2025. And those at Ratlam are scheduled for October 2025, according to Western Railway Chief PRO Vineet Abhishek.

Everyone is welcome to join in these celebratory events for Bandra Station. Some highlights include:- June 20: Kick-off of the centenary celebrations.

– July 5-6: A light and sound show paired with a photo exhibition showcasing the beautiful heritage of Bandra Station.
– July 13: An art and craft competition open to students from schools and colleges.
– July 27: A badge-making activity to commemorate the occasion, along with a prize distribution ceremony.

Bandra Station Mahotsav Is Free To Attend

If you’d like to participate, there are plenty of ways to get involved! The Western Railway invites commuters to join competitions and activities that celebrate the Station’s heritage, culture, and transformation. Here are the key details:

– Art and Craft Competition: Create artwork, drawings, paintings, or even digital art.
– Vlog Competition: Make a short video around the theme of the Station.
– Purani Yaadein: Share old memories related to Bandra Station through photos, videos, or audio clips.

Everyone can participate, and it’s free! To join, simply fill out a Google form to register. Don’t forget to use the hashtags #StationMahotsav, #BandraStation, and #HeritageMahotsav! The deadline for submissions is June 30. Selected pieces will be displayed at Bandra Station on July 13 and shared on Western Railway’s social media.
