Bihar’s First NaMo Bharat Train To Be Inaugurated By PM Modi

The state of Bihar is about to get its first NaMo Bharat Train soon! Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Jainagar-Patna NaMo Bharat Rapid Rail Service on April 24, 2025. This will be the first such rapid rail service in Bihar, featuring a 16-coach train that will cut down travel time drastically. It will also connect the region of Mithila to the state capital of Patna. Here’s all the information you need to know about Bihar’s first NaMo Bharat Train.

Jainagar-Patna NaMo Bharat Rapid Rail Service

Bihar’s first NaMo Bharat Rapid Rail Service will connect Jainagar to Patna and will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on Thursday, April 24, 2025. The Indian PM will mark his presence in the inauguration through video conferencing. As for the details of the new rail service, the semi high-speed train will cut down travel time by about two hours. The route will directly connect the Jainagar border area with the capital city of Patna, improving the commuting experience in Bihar drastically.

While the train will connect Jainagar to Patna, it will halt at major railway stations like Madhubani, Darbhanga, Sakri, Samastipur, Barauni, and Mokama.

The semi high-speed train will accommodate 200 passengers in seating and another 1,000 standing. Being fully air-conditioned, the train will also boast of other state-of-the-art features and amenities. These include modern vacuum toilets, ergonomic seats, modular interiors, route-map indicators, as well as Type-A and Type-C power outlets. It will also have top-notch security features such as emergency talk-back systems, CCTV cameras, fire alarm systems, automatic train protection system, and others.

Not just that, but the train will have engines on both sides, allowing for quicker exits and starts.

Schedule And Operational Details

The estimated speed of the semi high-speed train will be about 130 to 160 km/hr. The travel time from Jainagar to Patna will be cut short to only about five and a half hours. This travel time is two hours less than the current travel time it takes to reach Patna from Jainagar.

The first trial journey from Jainagar will leave at 11:40 AM and arrive in Patna by 6:30 PM. Thereafter, routine services from Jainagar will start at 5:00 AM and reach Patna at 10:30 AM. The return journey will leave Patna at 6:05 PM and reach Jainagar at 11:02 PM. 

As for the schedule, the train will run on all days except on Fridays (from Patna) and on Saturdays (from Jainagar).

The NaMo Bharat Train will boost connectivity in Bihar, connecting Mithila to Patna. It will make travel faster and convenient for school children, office workers, and other passengers. With world-class amenities and features, the train will make their journey more comfortable and luxurious.
