The Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) will operate the special Bharat Gaurav Train from 16th July 2025. This train will take passengers on a 10-day tour to the various sites associated with the Maratha empire as well as ancient pilgrimage sites in Maharashtra. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis On The Special Bharat Gaurav Train

Maharashtra Chief Minister (CM) Devendra Fadnavis recently announced the launch of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj & Glorious Maratha Tour — a 10-day journey set to begin on July 16. The tour will also include visits to some of the state’s most revered pilgrimage sites, offering passengers a rich blend of history and spiritual exploration. There will be AC II, AC III, as well as non-AC sleeper coaches in the train, so that you can easily choose between what accommodation suits you the best.

CM Devendra Fadnavis stated in a press conference that the tour will pay tribute to the glorious legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the Maratha empire. “This is not just a journey; it is a celebration of Maharashtrian culture and the timeless legacy of the Maratha Empire”, he said.

A Detailed Route Of The Bharat Gaurav Train

You must be wondering about the route the train will set out on from 16th July, 2025. Well, the journey will begin from the National Capital of Delhi. The train will make its way to Maharashtra. However, it will halt at important junctions like Delhi Cantonment, Gurgaon, Rewari, Phulera, Ajmer, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Vasai Road and Kalyan as it makes its way to Maharashtra. Passengers will be able to alight the train at these junctions.

The train will cover important sites in Maharashtra like Pune, Fort Raigad, Bhimashankar, Trimbakeshwar, and Grushneshwar Jyotirlingas, Fort Shivneri, Ellora Caves, Shirdi, Nashik, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

It will first halt at Pune, where passengers will visit the iconic Shaniwar Wada and the Aga Khan Palace. This will be followed by a day excursion to Fort Raigad. Then on Day 4, passengers will visit the Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga by road as per information provided by an IRCTC official. On Day 5, passengers will visit Fort Shivneri, the birthplace of Shivaji Maharaj. They’ll halt at the temple town of Shirdi for the night and will pay respects at the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple the next day.

Visitors will then make their way to Nashik, where they’ll visit the revered Trimbakeshwar Temple. After a successful darshan, passengers will head towards Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, formerly Aurangabad. On Day 8, visitors visit the Grushneshwar Jyotirlinga and then explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Ellora Caves. Then, the last two days of the train journey will be covered in making a return trip to Delhi.

Train itinerary: Delhi – Pune – Shirdi – Nasik – Aurangabad – Delhi

Tickets: INR 19,180 (Economy Sleeper); INR 33,345 (AC III);  INR 47,330 (AC II) per person
