Train journeys can sometimes be exhausting. Once you finally reach your destination, finding transportation to your home or final stop can feel overwhelming. To ease this challenge, the Bengaluru division of South Western Railways has partnered with Rapido and Namma Yatri to introduce booking kiosks at major railway stations, offering convenient cab and auto-rickshaw services. Similar to kiosks found at airports, these will be available at railway stations in Bangalore.
According to reports from Moneycontrol, these two companies will pay a total annual fee of INR 53 lakh to operate kiosks across six different stations. Rapido plans to create two air-conditioned waiting and booking kiosks at both the KSR Bengaluru City station and Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal in Byappanahalli, along with additional kiosks at Yeswantpur and Hoodi stations. Meanwhile, Namma Yatri will set up its kiosks at Krishnarajapuram and Whitefield.

Bengaluru Railway Division Has Confirmed That These Booking Kiosks Will Have A Minimum Five Vehicles
Both companies will provide cabs and auto-rickshaws at these locations, with every kiosk featuring a minimum of five vehicles. The individual companies will determine the design of the kiosks. These companies participated in the bidding process, and plans are in place to expand this initiative to other stations. Additionally, the Bengaluru railway division is exploring partnerships with various catering services and global restaurant chains to open outlets at these stations.
A booking kiosk will not only simplify the booking process but will also assist people with their booking needs. We believe that every railway station in India should have this facility. Stay tuned for more updates.
