Pride Month, celebrated globally in June, is a time of acknowledging, amplifying, and honoring queer voices around the world. And if there’s one country that’s pioneering this fabulous revolution with pride (pun intended), it’s Thailand. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is known for its unique street food and bustling nightlife. But it is also famous for its annual Bangkok Pride Festival. In 2025 too, the city will celebrate the Bangkok Pride Festival with a bang and here’s all that in store!

While Pride Month will last for the entire month of June, the Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 will take place from May 31 to June 1, 2025. The three-day festival will not only be a celebration of the queer community but also feature many queer leaders, changemakers, and trailblazers sharing the stage to raise awareness about the community.

The theme of this year’s Bangkok Pride Festival will be ‘Born This Way: The Fight Continues’. This theme highlights how Pride Month is not just a celebration, but an ongoing protest – a protest to be able to live free. Over the course of three days, the city will host a variety of events and parades.

Events At The Bangkok Pride Festival 2025

Bangkok Pride Parade

The Bangkok Pride Parade will be held on June 1, 2025. Just like every year, Rama I Road will transform into a colorful runway full of love, celebration, and liberation. Not just that, but Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery will actively participate in hosting several events and activities throughout Pride Month. The highlight of the pride parade will be a 200-meter long Pride flag that’ll stretch wide on the Rama I Road – a truly spectacular sight that you must not miss out on! In fact, each of the seven colors of the flag will represent a unique sub-theme:

  • ‘Born Again’
  • ‘Born to Be Loved’
  • ‘Born to Be Me’
  • ‘Born to Be Part of One’
  • ‘Born to Create & Inspire’
  • ‘Born to Heal Generations’
  • ‘Born to Be Together’

Bangkok Pride Forum 2025

From May 30 to June 1, the Bangkok Pride Forum will bring together distinct voices from the government, private sector, and the civil society under one roof. This national forum will feature insightful panel discussions and workshops that’ll talk about everything – from LGBTQ+ health and education for all to human rights and the rainbow economy.

It will honor trailblazers across 11 diverse categories with a total of 26 awards. Here are some of the categories:

Pop-Up Installation And Unboxing Events

Siam Center, along with Thai artist Poriin and eight diverse creatives, will present a special pop-up installation and a ‘Do It Yourself’ Experience. Titled ‘Siam Center Galaxy of Love’, it will beautifully encapsulate the essence of pride. Not just that, there will also be an exciting Pop Mart unboxing event that’ll surely excite you if you’re obsessed with collectibles.

Concerts And Drag Shows

The Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 will provide a platform for many up-and-coming queer artists. Thailand is known for its drag show culture and queer-friendly nightlife. The Pride Stage weekend concerts and various drag shows that’ll be held throughout the month will guarantee a fun, foot-thumping experience for everyone!

Bangkok To Bid For The World Pride 2030

While Bangkok is already known for being a queer-friendly city, it will bid this year to host the World Pride 2030. This will cement Bangkok’s position as a leading Pride destination as well as set an example for other Asian cities to follow suit.

The festival is expected to bring in 3,00,000 participants, about 50,000 more than the 2024 Bangkok Pride Festival. The number of participants in this festival has only seen an upwards rise since the last few years.

This has to be credited to the country’s growing acceptance towards the queer community, rise in tourism, and historic legislations such as the Marriage Equity Bill. This bill made Thailand the first Southeast Asian country in the world to allow same-sex marriage.

If Bangkok wins the bid, it will be a monumental win for the country’s queer community. Not just that, but it will position Thailand at the heart of global diversity and inclusion.

Summing Up

Queer love might not be yet the accepted norm in many countries, but Thailand is leading the way for all. The country is fostering a safe and inclusive environment for the members of the LGBTQ+ community. And The Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 will be one such celebration in the Land of Smiles that truly celebrates diverse smiles – sans any prejudice!
