Bangalore Metro Yellow Line 2025 Inauguration By PM Narendra Modi
The Yellow Line of Namma Metro will be operational from Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road OR R.V. Road to Bommasandra. This line was constructed in three phases: Bommasandra to Beratena Agrahara, Beratena Agrahara to Bommanahalli, and Bommanahalli To R.V. Road.
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) plans to operate three trains on this route in the initial days following its launch, with the frequency set to increase in the future.
Constructed at a cost of a whopping INR 5,056.99 crore, the Bangalore Metro Yellow Line features 16 stations, including interchange stations with the Green Line at R.V. Road and the Pink Line at Jayadeva Hospital. After it begins operations, it is expected to reduce traffic congestion at the infamous Silk Board Junction, known for rampant traffic jams.
The line is also estimated to carry eight lakh passengers daily and connect the residential areas of South Bangalore to the industrial and economic neighborhood of Electronic City. Not just that, it will also allow direct transfers with the Green and Pink Lines and significantly improve public transport in the IT Hub of India.

Yellow Line Metro Bangalore: Safety Evaluations And Delays
It was in July 2025 that the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety conducted safety evaluations of the Yellow Line of Namma Metro. From July 22 to July 25, the Commissioner covered safety evaluations on approximately 18.82 km of the route. This evaluation focused on the condition of the tracks, safety of elevated sections, and operational standards for all stations.
Despite passing the safety evaluations and the inauguration date inching closer, the Yellow Line has faced significant delays and operational issues during its construction. The line, which began construction in 2017, is now set to be operational after almost 8 years.
PM Narendra Modi To Launch The 15,000 Crore Phase 3
During the inauguration, PM Narendra Modi will not only inaugurate the Yellow Line but also launch the INR 15,611 crore Phase-3 expansion project also called the Orange Line. This new line will further expand the city’s metro network by 44 more kilometers and include two lines and 31 stations. Phase 3 will serve the area of Magadi Road and the western portion of the Outer Ring Road.
Bangalore MP Tejasvi Surya expressed his gratitude towards PM Narendra Modi for inaugurating the Yellow Line, calling the occasion a “landmark moment for Bengaluru South”. He further stated that he is grateful to PM Modi for investing close to INR 20,000 crore in the metro infrastructure in Bangalore.
