Shri Amarnath Yatra Registration 2025: What You Need To Know

The Amarnath Yatra will commence from July 3, 2025 and will end on August 9, 2025. Now, when it comes to registration, there are two ways to register for the Amarnath Yatra 2025 – online and offline. Online registration is convenient for travelers coming to the pilgrimage from across India. On the other hand, offline registration is convenient for travelers living in or around Jammu-Kashmir. Registrations have begun from April 14, 2025. Here are detailed steps about both online and offline registrations:

Steps For Amarnath Yatra 2025 Registration Online

  • Visit the official Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) website.
  • Click on the registration link for Amarnath Yatra.
  • Carefully read all the instructions and move on to ‘Register’.
  • Enter your personal details and upload the required documents, including passport-sized photographs and compulsory health certificate (CHC).
  • Enter the one time password (OTP) you receive on your phone number.
  • Make the required payment of approximately INR 220 as the registration fee.
  • Once the payment is successful, download your Amarnath Yatra Registration Permit from the portal.

Steps For Amarnath Yatra 2025 Registration Offline

  • If you wish to register yourself in an offline manner, you must visit approved registration centers in Jammu (Vaishnavi Dham, Mahajan Hall, Panchayat Bhawan) or the state-wise designated bank branches.
  • You’ll be required to collect the token slips usually three before the chosen yatra date from these centers. 
  • After collecting your token slip, you’ll be required to visit Saraswati Dham in Jammu for a medical checkup and formal registration. Visit the RFID Card Center in Jammu the same day you get your medical checkup done to collect your permit. RFID cards are mandatory for all travelers, so make sure you collect and keep it safe with you.

For group registrations of Amarnath Yatra, the SASB has issued separate guidelines on their website where pilgrims will be required to download and fill out a form and then send it via post to the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. Group registrations will begin from April 14, 2025 and end on May 31, 2025.

Documents Required For Amarnath Yatra Registration 2025

  • Recent passport-sized photographs
  • Government issued ID card: Aadhar Card, Driving Licence, etc
  • Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued by an authorized doctor

Things To Know About Amarnath Yatra 2025

  • Carry your RFID card with you at all times during the pilgrimage. Make sure to keep it safe with you as travelers will not be allowed to participate in the yatra without a valid RFID card.
  • People of and above 70 years of age as well as people of and below 13 years of age are prohibited from participating in the Amarnath Yatra. Similarly, pregnant women in the sixth month of pregnancy or more are not allowed to participate in the pilgrimage.
  • Only post-paid BSNL, Jio, and Airtel SIM cards will work in the Amarnath pilgrimage area. However, if you don’t have these connections, you can get a pre-paid or post-paid SIM card at the Baltal and Nunwan Base Camps.
  • Do not ignore the symptoms of high altitude sickness such as dizziness, nausea, weakness, shortness in breathing, etc. As soon as you start experiencing these symptoms, descend to lower elevation immediately and seek medical help.
  • It is advised to wear comfortable clothing like tshirts, trackpants, etc for both men and women. Also, make sure to wear heavy duty trekking shoes as the terrain is rough.
  • Stay on the designated route and do not attempt to take shortcuts or deviate from the route.
  • Begin physically preparing for your pilgrimage weeks before the actual trek. This includes running or walking daily for 4 to 5 kilometers, maintaining a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water, and refraining from alcohol and smoking.
