Gujarat’s Surat hosts the Dandi Sea Food Festival, which is a vibrant seafood festival. It is known to draw thousands of seafood lovers for fresh coastal delicacies, cultural vibes, and beachside fun with family. This fun festival will be hosted from 20 February to 22 February, 2026, at Surat’s Dandi beach. Here’s everything you must know about Dandi Sea Food Festival 2026. 

Dandi Sea Food Festival 2026: Basic Details and How To Reach

Dandi Seafood Festival is an annual 3-day seafood festival at Dandi Beach in Olpad Taluka, Surat. The festival celebrates Gujarat’s coastal seafood bounty. This event is scheduled for February 20 to February 22, 2026, 6:00 PM onwards. This 2026 edition of the festival builds on the 2025 success. It drew 20,000 visitors with 45 hygienic stalls serving a huge variety of seafood.

How To Reach

Air

  • The nearest airport is the Surat International Airport (STV). 
  • Fly down to this airport and then take a taxi via NH56 through Olpad. 
  • Dandi Beach is about 50 to 60 km from the airport. 

Train

  • The nearest railway station is Surat Railway station and it is a major hub. 
  • From here, you can take a Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) bus to Olpad. 
  • It is about 45 minutes away from the railway station. 
  • The nearest minor stop is Navsari Junction. It is 30 minutes from the venue. 

Road

  • Dandi is accessible by road from Surat or Navsari. 
  • It is about a 3-4 hour drive from Mumbai via NH48. 

Dandi Sea Food Festival 2026: What To Expect At The Stalls

The festival, last year, was inaugurated by Minister Mukesh Patel. It is known to highlight the local aquaculture tech while converting the historic Dandi into a foodie spot.  The festival, is jointly organized by Gujarat Aquaculture Feed Dealers Association and ICAR–Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture. Dandi Sea Food Festival 2026 promotes the consumption of domestic fishes through affordable plates. 

Visitors can expect Gujarati staples like bombil (Bombay duck) fry, spiced batter-fried local fishes, and kolambi masala. Many stalls will also be serving paired surmai (kingfish) tandoori or  grilled pomfret  or pomfret fry. 

The stall also serve many regional hits include Kerala-style karimeen in banana leaf, seabass fillets in garlic butter, milkfish fry, mud crab sukka, squid rings masala, and tiger prawns tandoori. All these sea food are sourced fresh from brackish farms through SAFPO. They expect authentic mud crab, shrimp thalis, fish thalis, and seabass curries along with sides.

Dandi Sea Food Festival 2026: More Than Seafood

Dandi Seafood Festival offers much more than just food. It transforms the beach into a lively cultural and family hub. Visitors can expect vibrant cultural entertainment with traditional Gujarati folk dances, live Garba performances, and Bollywood music. 

2025’s edition featured adventure rides like jet skis, banana boats, and bumper cars for kids. While kid zones host games and magic shows, you can take selfies at selfie points with Dandi’s historic Salt March statue. 

Handicraft stalls by women Self Help Groups sell shell jewelry, embroidered bags, and pottery items. This blends shopping along with community support. Last year they had generated sales worth INR 1 lakh+. The beach has solar-lit pathways ensure safe evening strolls. They also have ample parking space 5,000 vehicles and clean restrooms. They also host aquaculture expo with free demos on sustainable fishing tech.
