Navi Mumbai is not only known as a well-planned city, but it is also recognized for its clean roads, good development, and more. To further enhance its beauty, Airoli and Ghansoli in Navi Mumbai are set to welcome Navi Mumbai’s first mangrove parks. Read on to know more about this.

Navi Mumbai is set to establish its first Mangrove Parks, focusing on conserving its fragile coastal environment while encouraging eco-tourism. These parks are envisioned as a space where visitors can enjoy the diverse plant and animal life within mangrove forests, which are crucial for ecosystem health.

To bring this project to life, the Maharashtra forest department has hired a consultant to handle the design and planning phase after a competitive bidding process. These parks aim to foster community involvement in conserving these vital ecosystems, raising awareness about biodiversity, and supporting research, all while adhering to environmental guidelines.

Navi Mumbai’s First Mangrove Parks

Once ready, the parks will feature elevated walkways, visitor centers, and educational facilities designed to enhance the experience for nature lovers. Presently, experts are conducting site analyses and environmental assessments, and once the designs are finalized, the development will be executed by a designated agency.

While we await the opening of the park in Navi Mumbai, you can find serenity at the Malabar Hill Walkway. This 705-meter-long and 2.4-meter-wide path offers breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea and Girgaum Chowpatty. The walkway is open from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and hourly slots must be booked in advance. The entry fee is ₹25 for Indians and ₹100 for foreigners.
