On February 15, 2019, India introduced its first Semi High Speed train, the Vande Bharat Express, along the New Delhi-Kanpur-Allahabad-Varanasi route. Since its launch, more than 165 Vande Bharat trains have been operational across the country. And now, in a major travel boost to Gujarat and Rajasthan, the Ahmedabad–Udaipur Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to launch today, February 16th.

This new service will link Asarwa (Ahmedabad) in Gujarat with Udaipur City in Rajasthan, and it is set to begin regular operations on Wednesday, February 18th. This marks Gujarat’s sixth Vande Bharat train, improving local connectivity and promoting passenger ease, tourism, and economic development.

Ahmedabad–Udaipur Vande Bharat Express To Commence Regular Service From February 18th

The inaugural service of the Train number 09663 Udaipur City-Asarwa Vande Bharat Express will depart from Udaipur City at 12:25 PM on February 16. It will arrive at Asarwa by 5:15 PM. The train will make stops at Jawar, Dungarpur, and Himmatnagar along the way.

Regular operations will commence on February 18 with Train number 26964 Asarwa-Udaipur City Vande Bharat Express. It will leave Asarwa daily (except Tuesdays) at 5:45 PM and reach Udaipur City at 10:00 PM. And, train number 26963 will leave Udaipur City daily at 6:10 AM and arrive at Asarwa at 10:25 AM, stopping at the same stations in both directions.

This will be Gujarat’s sixth Vande Bharat Express train. This Ahmedabad–Udaipur Vande Bharat Express train includes features like comfy reclining seats, sliding doors, mobile charging points, bio-toilets, automatic doors, and CCTV. It ensures a safe and comfortable journey for passengers.

This new semi-high-speed train will cut travel time between Udaipur City and Asarva by one hour. This train will be under North Western Railway (NWR). Ticket prices are INR 900 for an AC Chair Car and INR 1680 for an Executive Chair Car. Bookings will be available via the IRCTC website and app.
