War 2: Aavan Javan Filming Locations Revealed!

Tuscany, Italy

Tuscany, located in Central Italy, is a region known for its postcard-perfect landscapes. We’re talking about sweeping green vineyards, sun-drenched olive groves, and medieval towns that feel like they’re stuck in time. Aavan Javan, with its foot-tapping melody, perfectly captures the essence of this sun-soaked region in Italy.

Landscape of Tuscany

From the cobblestone streets to sprawling wine estates, the region feels like it has stepped right out of a whimsical fairytale. Spend your days wine tasting, biking through the hilltop villages (like the actors in War 2), and exploring the European countryside. Try local wines and cheeses, go truffle hunting, take guided tours, visit local museums and antique shops, and take in the beauty of a timeless landscape. Whether you’re a history buff, foodie, or a hopeless romantic, there is something for you in Tuscany, Italy.

Trevi Fountain, Rome

After wrapping up their Italy schedule, the crew of War 2 flew down to Rome, where they shot for the remaining portions of the song. And one of the key iconic locations shown in this music video is the Trevi Fountain in Rome. While the fountain is not new to appearing in movies, it makes a rare appearance in a Hindi movie through Aavan Javan. Completed in 1762, the fountain stands at the junction of three roads, which is what “tre vie” stands for in the local language.

At the center of this iconic fountain stands Neptune, god of the sea, taming the waters in his chariot. Many legends believe that you’re guaranteed to return to Rome if you toss a coin over your shoulder into the fountain. Trevi Fountain is a popular tourist attraction in Rome, attracting thousands of tourists daily. Visit early in the morning or late at night to avoid the crowds – and don’t forget your coin!

The Colosseum, Rome

The Colosseum has to be the most iconic and culturally important landmark in Rome. After all, the massive structure dates back to 80 AD! This UNESCO World Heritage Site is where many important chapters in Roman history turned their pages – from epic gladiator battles to wild animal hunts, as well as theatrical dramas – it has seen it all. With such a rich history, the Colosseum makes for a wonderful backdrop in the song Aavan Javan. As Hrithik and Kiara enjoy their romantic tour in Rome, the Colosseum looms over in the background, lending an epic energy to the visuals.

Rome's Colosseum

If you are visiting this ancient monument, you can opt for guided tours to understand more about the structure, the ruling emperors, and Roman history in general. The underground chambers and the arena floor are especially impressive – so, do not miss those. Whether you’re a history nerd or simply seeking cinematic grandeur, the Colosseum is a must-see, and War 2 just gave us one more reason to visit!

Spanish Steps, Rome

Very few spots in Rome are as picturesque as the 18th-century Spanish Steps. These 135 grand steps were built to connect the Trinità dei Monti Church to the Piazza di Spagna below. Over the years, these stairs have become a major attraction for locals and tourists alike. The steps offer a romantic, sunlit setting, making Hrithik and Kiara’s sizzling chemistry stand out in the song.

During spring, the steps line up with beautiful azaleas that many tourists flock to see – and trust us, this is a sight to behold. While sitting on the stairs is not permitted today, thanks to the preservation rules, you can still enjoy their grandeur to your heart’s content. Worry not, there are plenty of boutique cafes, shops, and places around the steps where you can grab a quick coffee and pastries and set out on your next adventure!

Summing Up

Time to step into your own dreamy Bollywood music video! And these stunning locations in Rome and Italy offer the perfect canvas to do so! While Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani might set the screen on fire with this soulful new track from War 2, you too can visit these places the next time you’re planning to go on a vacation.
