Saudi Arabia Travel Advisory For Indians: Safety And Flights

Indian Embassy travel advisory for Indian

The Embassy of India in Riyadh has issued an urgent security advisory. It lays out instructions for Indian nationals across Saudi Arabia to remain calm, stay vigilant, and remain indoors in the event of aerial attacks. This warning comes on the heels of the drone and missile strike on the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that took place on the 10th of October. The attack resulted in the death of one Indian national and left several others injured. This includes ten Indian citizens who are, as of now, under medical care or monitoring.

Saudi Arabia Travel Advisory Released For Indians

For continuous support and help for affected people, a 24×7 control room has been established at the embassy. The control room aims to provide constant assistance to Indian expatriates and travelers. In addition to this, the embassy also confirmed that Indian nationals on tourist, Umrah, or business visas who overstay due to canceled flights will not face financial penalties upon exit.

It is important to note, however, that those with expired visas are urged to depart as soon as operations restart. For those passengers who are looking for emergency departure options, they are advised to explore nearby regional hubs such as airports in Bahrain and Qatar. Please note that even during this time of crisis, entry in these regions is subject to securing valid transit or entry visas before travel.

Summing Up

The strikes have significantly disrupted air travel, so for many Indian expats, coming back to India might not be an option that’s available immediately. However, the advisory put out by the government is crucial and demands attention. If caught up in an unsavory situation, do not panic. Keep a close eye on the news, monitor the location of your loved ones, and keep the emergency helplines handy.
