Where Does Annakshetra Take Place At Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga
The Annakshetra at Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, located in the temple’s parking area, started serving food in 2004. This space can accommodate up to 370 devotees at a time and is open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. There is a brief break from 5 PM to 6 PM for cleaning and food preparation, ensuring a safe, clean environment for guests.
Since August 2, 2004, the Shri Mahakaleshwar Free Annakshetra has been an essential part of the temple, beginning its service on the first Monday of the holy month of Shravan.
Devotees enjoy a variety of traditional meals, including Dal, Rice, Roti, Sabzi, and a sweet dish. On special occasions like Mahashivaratri, the menu includes special items such as sabudana khichdi or kheer for those who are fasting.
The Annakshetra offers a well-organized facility with modern kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards. Daily, it serves around 7,000 to 8,000 devotees and meals are distributed through a respectful coupon system managed by the Temple Committee.
