Protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi have prompted significant security measures, resulting in the closure of 16 Delhi Metro stations. Several metro stations were closed on 22nd July, Wednesday, as thousands converged in central Delhi in response to the Cockroach Janta Party’s call to march to Parliament over alleged examination irregularities. The closure has now extended to Thursday until further notice.
Starting today, 23 July, at 7:30 AM, these stations will remain closed until further notice due to safety concerns arising from ongoing protests related to the NEET paper leak. Stations affected include Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Mandi House, ITO, and Khan Market. Commuters are advised to take alternate routes and plan accordingly.
Despite the closures, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has confirmed that access to these stations is currently suspended until further notice, but passengers can still use interchange options at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat.

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is protesting to call for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. This movement, driven primarily by youth, has emerged in response to widespread concerns about irregularities in exams across the country. The CJP began its protest at Jantar Mantar on June 20, and on June 28, climate activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the movement, declaring an indefinite hunger strike.
