About Kashi Vishwanath Temple

The Kashi Vishwanath temple holds a lot of importance in Hinduism as it is believed to be the cosmic center of the universe and also the ultimate gateway to liberation or Moksha. According to Hindu scriptures, Lord Shiva manifested here as a fiery pillar to resolve a dispute between Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma.

It is said that a single glimpse or darshan of Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga combined with a holy dip in the river Ganga cleanses all of a person’s accumulated sins. Hindu mythology says that Varanasi is the favorite earthly abode of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
